Biography: Nancy Newman
Incorporating documentary photojournalism style photography, with a keen understanding of her client's business marketing objectives, Nancy Newman moves seamlessly between editorial, corporate, sports, marketing, public relations and fashion. With more than 25 years of experience, Nancy Newman's work is extensive, varied, and award winning.
She spent more than 10 years as a working photojournalist for several newspapers in the Greater Los Angeles area, photographing such moments as the Super Bowl, the L.A. Riots, the Academy Awards, MLB, NBA, NFL, and four United States Presidents, and is still active within the news media, photographing a wide range of assignments.
Nancy runs a successful photography business, built entirely on word of mouth and referrals. She Is dedicated to her clients, which include include major corporations, magazines, education, health care, and non-profit organizations. With offices in Orange County and Los Angeles, CA, Nancy's photo shoots cover all of Southern California. And many of her clients fly her out of state to photograph their events in Florida, Seattle, Chicago, and New York.
Nancy, a 1989 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of La Verne, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism, with an emphasis in photojournalism. She continues to devote her energies to furthering the craft of photography. Recently re-elected to the Board of Directors for the Press Photographers Association of Greater Los Angeles, she has also served 3 years as President of the organization, 2 years as Vice-President and another 8 years on the Board of Directors. She also serves on the Photo Advisory board for her college alma mater. Her work has been published in more than 17 countries, and she has received numerous awards and recognitions from the National Press Photographers Association, Los Angeles Press Club, PPAGLA, the California Press Photographers Association and others.
